Here’s how you can get your Disney ride photos in 2024.

What Disney Rides Have Pictures?

Not all Disney attractions will have on-ride photo ops.

For example, most dark rides do not have cameras for guest reactions.

Which is a shame because we bet there are some doozies from Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride!

We’ve made a list of all the Walt Disney World and Disneyland rides with on-ride pictures.

Where To Find All The Ride Photos On Disney Rides

Need to know where to look for each ride?

We’ve got that covered for you. We’ll give a general idea of where and when you should expect each ride photo at Disney to be snapped.

Magic Kingdom Ride Photos

  • Space Mountain ride photos– if you are loading on the left track, the photo is in the very first tunnel on the left side. The photo is in the first tunnel on the right side if you are loading on the right track.
  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin– as your ride vehicle automatically turns toward the HUGE Zurg in the last room, your photo will be taken from the right-hand side.
  • Haunted Mansion– when you hear the spcheal about the ghosts who might follow you home, you’ll be turned toward a row of mirrors. Not only will you see your new ghost friend, but the photo will also be taken here.
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train– the photo is taken early on from the LEFT as you go down the first big hill. A second video is taken as you exit the mine and go down the hill.
  • Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride photos– No surprise here; the camera snaps the Splash Mountain picture as you crest the hill and have a significant drop. The angle is slightly from the RIGHT.
  • Pirates of the Caribbean– the camera is located right before the drop. Look up toward the LEFT at the skull and crossbones.
  • Tron Lightcycle Run- the photo is taken during the first launch. The camera will capture pictures and video from both sides of the coaster. You can look straight ahead or in either direction, and Tron will capture great photos!

Epcot Ride Photos

  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride photos– click the link for all the details, but this happens during the backward launch. Tie your hair back if you want to see your face!
  • Frozen Ever After– look up to the LEFT just as you go down the hill.
  • Test Track ride photos: As the doors open and you begin the speed test, the camera is on the right.

Hollywood Studios Ride Photos

  • Slinky Dog Dash– you’ll have a camera snap a photo from the RIGHT side just before your ride ends and you hear Wheezy sing.
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith ride photo: as you launch, the camera snaps your picture slightly from the LEFT side. It happens immediately.
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror– when the doors open and you get a quick peek outside- and SNAP, the photo is taken near the top of the ride.

Animal Kingdom Ride Photos

  • Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain ride photo- as your train makes the big drop, the camera will take a photo slightly from the RIGHT side.
  • DINOSAUR– this one is a jump scare! It should come at you from the right side as you see the carnosaur near the end of the ride.

Disneyland Rides With Photos

Disneyland Park

  • Space Mountain – at the end of Disneyland’s Space Mountain, you’ll go through a tunnel with flashing lights. This is where your photo is taken.
  • Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride photos- same as the Disney World version: your photo is taken just as you take the big drop. Look to the RIGHT.

Disney California Adventure Park

  • Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!– same as Tower of Terror. Your photo will be taken as the doors open at the top of the ride.
  • Radiator Springs Racers– as you go under the rock overpass, a camera will snap your photo.
  • Incredicoaster– the photo is taken near the end of the ride, as you go underneath the tracks and head back to the station.

Now that you know where all the ride cameras are at Disney World and Disneyland, you can pose for some funny Disney ride photos.

Just remember that you will not get your photo if there is a lewd gesture, nudity, or any political signage present.

How To Get Your Disney Ride Photos In 2024

On-ride photos are some of the best souvenirs from a Disney vacation.

They really capture your family in the moment, and sometimes the results are absolute perfection.

The on-ride Disney photos are easy to use, especially if you know where to look.

Here’s where you need to look for the photo and how you can download them for all your social media sharing needs.

1. Sign Up For My Disney Experience or The Disneyland App To Download Your Disney Ride Photos

If you haven’t used these programs just yet, now is the time to get signed up.

To get started for a Disney World vacation, simply visit My Disney Experience and complete the steps below.

  • Register or Sign in to this website. You can do this on a laptop, tablet or phone. This will take you to the My Disney Experience Website
  • Link Your Disney Package Reservation number OR your tickets. Once signed in, enter your resort confirmation number if you have a package. A Disney World vacation package bundles your resort and tickets together in one purchase. If you have stand-alone tickets (purchased via a military base or online separate from your room), follow the next step.
  • Link Your Walt Disney World Ticket or Pass. The numbers needed are on the back of your ticket or on your email confirmation.

To get started for a Disneyland Vacation, you’ll do the same process using disneyland.com

2. Download the My Disney Experience App or Disneyland App

You will honestly use these apps everywhere at Disney. They are separate for each resort, so make sure you are opening the correct one.

Even if you choose not to purchase the on-ride photos, these apps have become important and necessary tools for  Walt Disney World and Disneyland vacations.

So go ahead and download so you’ll be all set for your trip!

3. Scan The QR Code In The Ride Queue If There Is One

One option: Scan the QR code as you enter the ride.

Not all rides will have this as an option, but if you see it, go ahead and utilize it.

If you missed that photo QR code or there isn’t one in the queue, follow the next steps.

4. Use Your Mobile Device And Bluetooth To Automatically Connect To the Disney Ride Photos

Before you enter the ride, turn your device’s Bluetooth settings on.

Open the My Disney Experience app or Disneyland app and sign in at least once before riding.

This will automatically signal the ride camera to connect for your photo as you fly past!

Tron Lightcylce Run Tip: be sure to keep your phone with you and store it in the on-ride compartment for this option to work. If you leave your phone in a locker, you won’t get your photo using this method.

5. Wear A MagicBand

As long as your MagicBand or MagicBand+ is linked to your account, your ride photos will be collected by the system.

It’s- well- Magic!

You won’t need to do anything special; just wear the MagicBand and you’ll be good to go!

You’re probably using one to scan into the ride anyway, so this is the no-brainer option.

6. Check Your My Disney Experience or Disneyland App For New Photos From Your Disney Rides

Give the PhotoPass crew a bit of time to upload the new ride photos.

We’ve had them show up within minutes, hours, and even days at times.

So try to have a little patience!

But go to the My Disney Experience app to see your latest photos.

  1. Open the app. Click on the 3 lines on the bottom right-hand corner of the app.
  2. Photos will be an option in the left-hand column near the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click on the Photos section and your latest Disney PhotoPass options will appear.

If you have purchased Memory Maker, your Disney ride photos are included in that purchase. You can download and save the photo immediately.

If you purchased Genie+ at Disneyland, your photos are also included for the day.

But you can also choose to download an individual ride photo if you did not purchase the Memory Maker photo package.

What Do I Do If My Disney Ride Photos Are Not Showing Up?

There is hope!

The PhotoPass crew is pretty good at finding lost photos.

You can call the PhotoPass team at (407) 560-4300 to report a missing or lost Disney ride photo at Disney World.

You can contact the PhotoPass team via this contact form to report a missing or lost Disney ride photo at Disneyland.

They’ll need the date and approximate time you were on the ride to help narrow the search.

How To Get Disney Ride Photos Without A Magic Band?

The Magic Band RFDI chip automatically links photos to your account on most rides.

But on some rides, you’ll need to physically tap your band on the touchpoint under the ride. If you don’t have a band, you can use a PhotoPass card (ask a PhotoPass photographer for one) OR a theme park ticket to collect the data.

You may also want to snap a picture of your picture to collect the photo code number if a touchpoint is not available.

To collect the photo, you’ll need to key in the card numbers or numbers from the photo into your app.

How Much Do Disney Ride Photos Cost?

If you purchase a Memory Maker at Disney World, the photos will include all ride photos.

Memory Maker costs $185 for the entirety of your vacation if you purchase it in advance or $210 if you wait until you are at Disney World to buy it.

You can also purchase a one-day Memory Maker for $75 which may be perfect for runDisney events.

At Disneyland, your Disney ride photos will also be included in the cost of your Genie+ if you purchase it. Disneyland’s Memory Maker costs $79 for a week.

In addition, ride photos and PhotoPass photos are included in the price of your Genie+ purchase at Disneyland. They are NOT included at Disney World.

Individual picture downloads and princes will cost anywhere from $14.95 to $19.95.

  1. Political signage won’t just get the photo blocked – you can be trespassed from WDW property – tossed out of the park, ejected from the resort if you’re staying on property, banned for life, the whole she-bang.
