Disney is always looking to give us something new and 2022 looks like it’s going to be off the charts!
From movies to Disney+ to theme parks and the cruise line, here are 22 new Disney experiences for 2022 that YOU can look forward to.
We’re throwing in a few honorable mentions that haven’t been announced, but we’re crossing our fingers for as well.
1. Disney Parking Lot Trams Return For 2022
While this may seem to be a silly thing to get excited for, it’s NOT silly if you’ve hiked from the Magic Kingdom lot to the front gates with small children in tow.
This is good news and we’re going to celebrate the tram returns- frankly, it’s about dang time.
While not exactly a new experience, we love to see it return.
2. Disney MagicBand+ Available in 2022
It’s a new form of arm candy and we are ready for it!
The next-generation wearable retains popular features from the original MagicBand and adds new functionality to unlock magical moments throughout Walt Disney World theme parks and resorts.
And Disneyland folks? This one is also coming to you in 2022!
That’s right, you’ll finally be able to use MagicBand+ at Disneyland next year.
3. Hey Disney! Echo Devices In Disney Resort Rooms
The tech plusses continue with a partnership with Amazon.
Hey Disney! Echo devices will be installed in the Disney resort rooms in 2022.
4. Fantasmic! Is Back At Hollywood Studios in 2022
We can’t wait to hear Mickey utter his famous line from the show: Some imagination, huh?
How does this make the “new in 2022 list” if it’s a return?
Because Disney is revamping the show and giving us some new scenes!
5. The Book of Boba Fett Coming To Disney+
Thank the Maker- we’re getting new Star Wars from Disney in 2022.
The Mandalorian not only gave us the gift of The Child but this exciting spinoff series as well.
The Book of Boba Fett begins airing on December 29, 2021, and will drop new content for 6 weeks into 2022.
6. Festival Of Fantasy Parade Returns To Magic Kingdom in 2022
We haven’t had a full daily parade since the parks closed down, so this is welcome news.
And yes, the dragon will be back for 2022!
But wait, there’s more…
7. Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade- A New Cavalcade in 2022
Characters include Nick and Judy from “Zootopia,” Baloo and King Louie from “The Jungle Book,” José Carioca and Panchito from “The Three Caballeros,” Miguel from “Coco,” and many more.
We do love a cavalcade and had this on our list of changes we hoped Disney would keep. Huzzah!
8. Finding Nemo: The Big Blue and Beyond! Premieres In Animal Kingdom in 2022
This new show is a reimagineered story based on the Finding Dory timeline.
We’re so excited to add this to our list of 22 New Disney Experiences For 2022.
9. New To Disney: Raya Meet and Greet Is Coming To Disneyland in 2022
Tucked into the announcement that the Lunar New Year Celebration is back at Disneyland was this exciting news: A Raya meet and greet is happening!
The star of “Raya and the Last Dragon” will be appearing for the very first time at Disneyland Resort during the celebration.
You’ll be able to see Raya in a setting inspired by her native Kumandra, recreated in the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.
10. runDisney Springtime Surprise Brings Back Fan Favorites in 2022
While we had to say goodbye to the Star Wars Rival Run race weekend, runDisney blessed us with the new Springtime Surprise race weekend.
And what a blessing it promises to be in 2022!
Expedition Everest 5K, Race for the Taste 10K and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 10-Miler are making a return for the April runDisney event.
11. Cruise on The Disney Wish in 2022
A brand new cruise ship is joining the Disney Cruise Line fleet in 2022.
Say hello to the Disney Wish, setting sail on voyages starting July 14, 2022.
12. Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire – New Song, New Show For 2022
A fan favorite returns to the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage at Magic Kingdom with some updates!
The show will be an updated version of Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire.
We’re also getting a new song for the show: “Where Magic Feels Like Home.”
13. The Proud Family Comes Back To Disney+ In February 2022
A continuation of the acclaimed series, “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” follows the adventures and misadventures of newly 14-year-old Penny Proud and her Proud Family as they navigate modern life with hilarity and heart.
The 2020s brings new career highs for mom Trudy, wilder dreams for dad Oscar and new challenges for Penny, including a socially woke neighbor who thinks she has a lot to teach her, bullying social media influencers who want to cancel her and her own teenage hormones.
14. New to Disney: Connections Cafe and Eatery Coming To Epcot in 2022
Just want Epcot needs: more ways to tempt us with good food!
But we’re not complaining.
Connections Cafe and Eatery is replacing the old Electric Umbrella location at Epcot.
Bring on the new menu- we’re ready!
15. Mears Connect & The Sunshine Flyer Replace Magical Express in 2022
While this news isn’t new to Disney, it counts as a new way to get to Disney.
That pretty much looks like the old way, to be honest, except for the new pricetag.
Here’s how you can get to Disney World after the Magical Express ends on December 31, 2021.
16. Avengers Campus Opening In Disneyland Paris Summer 2022
There was an idea, Stark knows this, called the Avengers Initiative. The idea was to bring together a group of of remarkable people to see if they could become something more. To see if they could work together when we needed them to, to fight the battles that we never could.

And that idea is continuing to expand as the 2nd Avengers Campus opens in Disneyland Paris this summer.

17. To Infinity: And Beyond! Lightyear Comes To Theaters in 2022
Pixar is going to have a big year, and Chris Evans is along for the ride.
He’s voicing the inspiration behind Buzz Lightyear in the toy’s origin story.
Lightyear blasts into theaters on June 17, 2022, with Evans, Pat Fraley, Patrick Warburton, Javier Fernandez-Peña, Mike MacRae, and Corey Burton listed in the cast.
18. Susan Arnold Replaces Bob Iger as Disney’s Chairman of The Board
Let’s give a shoutout to the first woman to hold the position of Disney’s Chairman of the Board.
Susan Arnold will take over when Bob Iger leaves the position on December 31, 2021.

19. New to Disney: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind Roller Coaster Opens In Epcot in 2022
This one’s going to be BIG.
Literally and figuratively.
Epcot hasn’t had a thrill ride since its inception almost 40 years ago and Disney is doing this one up right.
Cosmic Rewind is one of the longest indoor coasters in the world.

20. D23 Expo Comes To Anaheim in September 2022
D23 Expo, the biggest Disney fan event in the world, has a new celebration date.
Typically held in August every other year, this time D23 Expo is coming to Anaheim in September of 2022.
Tickets went on sale in January 2022!

21. New to Disney: Walt Disney World Railroad Returns
Okay, so this hasn’t been announced but we are seriously wishing it into existence.
It’s been closed since 2018 in part due to TRON coaster construction, in part due to Covid closures.
But we’re hearing the railroad began testing, so that’s got to be a hopeful sign that we see the Walt Disney World Railroad return sometime in 2022.
22. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Hotel Opens In 2022
All space nerds take note: this one’s for you!
If you are a big Star Wars fan and want to try something totally new and different, the Starcruiser hotel is something new at Disney in 2022.
Guests are being promised an out-of-this-world experience- lightsabers included!
