Do You Need Reservations To Get Into a Disney World Park?
You do now.
Things are constantly changing for Disney Guests, and probably the biggest change has been the Disney Park Pass Reservation System at WDW.
Never heard of it? You are not alone!
It’s a new process that started on June 22, 2020, and it is required for entry to all Disney parks.
Will Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort Stop Requiring Theme Park Reservations?
Can we look forward to the end of WDW reservations for the theme parks? How about DLR reservations?
So far, the answer is a clear NO.
The reservations seem to work well for park planning from a business standpoint with the recently fired CEO repeatedly saying they love the reservation program.
Guests: not as much. Planning in advance and lack of availability and flexibility seem to be the biggest complaints (no park hopping until 2 pm is a REAL drag!).
But Disney gets to make the rules: so theme park reservations are here to stay. For now.
With a new CEO in the mix, we can hope this is an issue soon resolved for guests.
How To Make Walt Disney World Park Reservations In 2023
Step 1: Check the Walt Disney World Park Availability Calendar
If you want to know your chances of entering a park on any specific day, go ahead and check the park availability calendar on the Disney World website.
This will tell you what parks are green- good to go!
It will also let you know what parks are not available.
Step 2 of the Disney Park Pass Reservation System: Log Into My Disney Experience Via Desktop
You will not able to make reservations through My Disney Experience App at this time.
From the disneyworld.com landing page, choose the Disney Park Pass System from the My Disney Experience drop-down menu.

Choose the people you will be making reservations for at this point.
As a reminder, some theme park tickets have reservation limits.
Each Annual Pass type has a maximum number of park reservations that can be held at a time. As your park reservations are redeemed or canceled, you can book new Disney Park Pass reservations up to the maximum number allowed plus the length of your stay if staying at a Disney Resort or other select hotel. View the reservation limit for your pass below.
