When will runDisney Princess Half Marathon weekend Corrals/Waivers/Course Maps/Event Guides drop?

That just depends. The official line is 2 weeks before the race, but they’ve come out at the end of January, beginning of February over the past years.

For the 2020 race weekend, the information was available on January 31, 2020.

Here’s a reminder of how things work each year:

Typically the runDisney event guides show up first, with the course maps included.

You can also find some information on start groups (corrals) inside the event guides (usually an indication of how many corrals will be set up for each race distance, but no details on placement).

Start Groups have NOT been released in advance for the 2021-2022 races, but we hope to pull together some guesstimates as bib numbers are known.

If you want to check out what happened at the last race, here are the 2020 Princess Half Marathon Corrals, Waivers, Course Maps & Event Guide to give you some idea of what to expect.

What About Sunrise Yoga?

This is a new event, so we aren’t 100% on how it will play out.

But here is everything we know about runDisney’s Sunrise Yoga for Princess Half weekend.

runDisney Race Security Details

The Marathon Weekend had runners going through a different route for race day security.

This change looks to be staying for the Princess Half Marathon.

You may need extra time to get from the parking lot to the race start.

Runners walking to security at Epcot park for runDisney race weekend.

Runners were dropped off in the parking lot by the race buses, private cars or Uber and Lyft.

Then they walked toward Epcot using the security scanners at the park entrance.

Runners then circled back and were directed to the family reunion area from Epcot.

It added almost 1.5 miles to the morning, so please allow for extra time when you arrive at Epcot just in case this remains the process for the Princess races.

Mask Requirements At runDisney Marathon Weekend Races

At this time, there are NO mask requirements for any participants in the Marathon weekend races.

You will not need to wear them in the corrals or at the finish as you do at some other races around the country.

You will need to wear them at the runDisney Expo indoors at the time of this writing. If it changes, we will update with the new policy.

As a reminder:

  • Face Coverings at Walt Disney World
    • Face coverings are required for Guests in all indoor locations, regardless of vaccination status, including the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo, medical tent, theme park restrooms and in Disney buses, monorails and Disney Skyliner.
    • For more information, see the most updated face covering requirements.

Princess Half Marathon Weekend Corrals and Start Groups

**New for 2022!**

runDisney will be utilizing Start Groups to follow health and safety guidelines and manage the flow of participants from the staging area to the start of the race. Your start group designation is a small “s” followed by a number (such as s1, s2, s3, s4) and is located in the upper corner of your bib.

Bib numbers can be found on the Expo Pass, but at this time there is not a Corral chart to reference. We’ll be working on one after the event to hopefully reference for next year.

You can use the 2020 corrals as a guide for this year’s race.

For the 2022 Marathon Weekend races, the Start Groups truly looked like the previous Corral setup.

We just used numbers rather than letters.

If this changes in future races, we’ll let you know.

But as of this race, if you are familiar with how the runDisney corral system worked in the past, then you will know exactly how the system is working now.

They changed the name to Start Groups and gave us numbers, but that really was the only difference noted.

Mini-waves are still being used inside each start group and those are not pre-determined or selected. If you want to be in an earlier wave, get to your start group when it opens.

Sorry, 5K and 10K runners; corrals are not released for these races.

Important to note: Wave starts within smaller corrals means you want to go ahead and arrive in your corral EARLY.

Our most favorite thing runDisney has ever done was the change to PhotoPass photographers for a runDisney race weekend

You might want to know a little about the weather.

You should know that weather in February in Florida has been all over the map.

There’s been sleet, thunderstorms, lightning, below-freezing temps, and even up into the high 80s with 100% humidity, on the half marathon race day.

Oooof.

Current weather predictions for Princess Half Marathon Weekend: too early to tell!

But we’ll keep you posted.

And if you are looking for a little runDisney advice this year, stop by this post to read what some runners have to say about the events.

Happy running!
