About TRON Lightcycle Run
From the Walt Disney World Website:

Secret TRON Tips For Disney World: 7 Things To Know Before You Enter The Grid
The newest roller coaster at Walt Disney World will also be the most popular one when it opens.
That’s not a secret: that’s just the facts of new rides at Disney!
But here are some secret TRON tips you’ll want to know about when planning and experiencing your first race through the grid.
1. Skip The Standby Line: Because There Isn’t One
While not exactly a secret, many newcomers may not realize this tidbit of news. When TRON Lightcycle Run opens, you won’t be able to run to line up at rope drop.
Keeping in line with other new attraction openings, TRON will only be accessed in two ways: virtual queue boarding groups and Individual Lightning Lane passes.
The biggest difference between the two?
The Boarding Group option won’t cost you anything extra (except a little sleep).
The Individual Lightning Lane pass will be an extra charge, ie, pay to skip the line.
Check out these tips and hacks for grabbing a TRON Boarding Group before your next Magic Kingdom visit to make sure you know how to use this new system.
2. Tips For Accessing TRON Lockers: Don’t Use Your Phone
There’s a simple reason for this:
You can’t use your phone to open the TRON lockers.
Access to the TRON lockers is available via MagicBand, MagicBand+, or physical ticket cards.
When you approach the locker pick a blue one. That indicates an open locker.
Once your stuff is in it and you shut the door, the locker turns white and then the lights turn off, signaling it’s in use and locked.
TRON Tip: If you use your phone for mobile theme park entry and Genie+ use, see a locker solutions cast member who will be nearby.
They can provide you with a card for TRON locker entry.
3. Speaking of Lockers: Keep Your Phone With You On TRON
As noted above, a new locker system will be implemented with this attraction.
All bags, hats, ears, etc should be stored inside the FREE locker when you prepare to board your Lightcycle.
A solid TRON Tip: keep your phone with you and enable Bluetooth. There is a compartment on each Lightcycle to safely store your phone.
Why do we suggest this?
Because it’s one of the best ways to make sure you can download your TRON ride photos.
But the Bluetooth won’t work if you leave the phone in your locker.
4. Secret TRON Tips: The New TRON Bathroom Is Glorious
Okay, sure, the TRON coaster may be cool, but have you SEEN the bathrooms?
Listen, there’s nothing better at a theme park than a new, clean bathroom with tons of stalls.
You can fight us on this, but you won’t win.
We’re thrilled that the bathrooms are going to be easily accessible before and after the potentially long wait for this attraction.
5. TRON Plus-Size Rider Tips
The big question around Disney circles leading up to the launch has been, “Is TRON Lightcycle Run Plus-Size Friendly?”
While there have been some concerning reports from the cast member previews on the subject, the overall consensus about Tron being plus-friendly is: it depends.
What do we mean by that?
It looks like the fit will depend on where you carry the weight, how tall your torso or legs are, and how big your calves are. This attraction will not safely fit everyone in a Lightcycle seat (but we have some good news for you if that’s the case! Keep reading.).
The attraction ride vehicle is similar in some ways to Avatar: Flight of Passage, but it’s also very different.
You will lean much farther forward, with weight applied to your knees on TRON.
If you have difficulty fitting into the seats on the Avatar ride, you may not fit on the TRON motorbikes. If you fit on Avatar, you still may not fit on TRON.
One key difference is the section of the attraction where your calves are locked in. There is a steel bar that comes straight across the calves which Flight of Passage does not have.
Leg length as well as size may be the concern when trying to be locked into TRON more so than girth.
TRON Lightcycle fit tip: position yourself all the way forward into the seat as much as possible to potentially bring the calves a bit further forward. Instead of leaving your feet flat, position them up against the “tire” behind you. You will place more weight on your knees in this position.
If your calves are bigger than 19 inches at the largest part, go ahead and use the back tire position while being locked in. This should allow the leg restraints to find a smaller part of your calf to lock you in.
And If You Don’t Fit On Tron? What Can You Do Then?
The GREAT news about this ride is that alternative seating is offered for folks who cannot sit on the Lightcycle for whatever reason. This is sadly not the case on Avatar: Flight of Passage.
The last car on some of the trains will offer this alternate seating, which is more in line with a traditional roller coaster and lap bar.
The BAD news is: they aren’t currently offered on every car.
So the wait for these seats may be longer than desired.
6. Secret Fireworks Viewing: Watch From TRON
We love a good secret fireworks viewing spot at the Magic Kingdom.
And when you combine the wide-open TRON pathways with the stunning canopy light show, we think TRON offers a potentially magical fireworks viewing location.
7. Don’t Skip The PhotoPass Photo Op After The Ride
We love a good PhotoPass op and TRON delivers!
After you help the Blue Team to a successful mission, be sure to stop and get the photo outside of the attraction.
Look for the bright green PhotoPass photographers and cheese it up. Even better with friends!
