How Old Do You Need To Be To Run a Disney 5K: runDisney Marathon Weekend 5K Age Requirement
This race weekend happens every January, typically the first full weekend following the New Year.
- All participants for the Marathon Weekend 5K distance must be 5 years of age on race day to participate and must be able to complete the 5K on their own.
runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend 5K Age Requirement
This race weekend happens every February, typically the first full weekend following President’s Day.
- All participants for the Princess Half Marathon Weekend 5K distance must be 5 years of age on race day to participate and must be able to complete the 5K on their own.
runDisney Expedition Everest 5K Challenge Age Requirement
The Expedition Everest 5K Challenge is happening as part of the 2022 Springtime Surprise Weekend. This weekend will vary based on the Easter holiday every year.
This Disney 5K race may be returning for one time only, so be sure you don’t miss registration on December 9, 2021.

Expedition Everest 5K also has the highest age requirement of any of the runDisney race weekends. So how old do you need to run this 5K at Disney?
- Must be 13 years or older to participate.
- Children under age 14 must be accompanied by a Guest age 14 or older to participate.
Essentially this means you have to be 13 or older to run the race, and if you are 13, you need to be accompanied by an adult.
