Spending hard-earned Disney dollars on making memories at Disney World can be “easy” to do, especially when feeding you and your family.
But deciding where to spend your Disney dollars wisely isn’t always easy.
Is the MNSSHP Disney Dessert Party worth it?
That depends on a few factors, but we’ll run down the ins and outs before you book those Advanced Dining Reservations 60 days in advance.
Here’s what you need to know about the MNSSHP dessert party fireworks viewing experience at Disney World.
What Is The Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party In Tomorrowland Terrace?
This fireworks dessert party takes place during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. There is another set of dessert parties that happen during non-party nights. Those are similar to this experience regarding fireworks views and food and drink options.
The Halloween Party dessert party is just a little more themed to the occasion!
Your family will have two options:
- Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace option will allow you to sit at a table and continue eating and drinking during Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks show. You will have a reserved table for the fireworks.
- Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing provides food and drinks at tables at the Tomorrowland Terrace. Your fireworks viewing will be located in the hub grass area in a standing-room location. No tables or chairs are provided here.
You can check in after 8:45 p.m. to enjoy your desserts and drinks for either party.
If you choose the Plaza Garden Viewing, you can let the Cast Members at the check-in location know when you are ready to enter this area. You’ll be escorted to the entrance and allowed to sit or stand on the hub grass while you wait for the fireworks to start.
Which Dessert Party Provides the Best Fireworks View At Magic Kingdom?
We felt the better option for fireworks viewing would be the Garden location.
We wanted to see the Jack Skellington puppet and all the projections during the fireworks show, which proved the better option.
Sitting in the Tomorrowland Terrace tables gives a great view of the fireworks, but you won’t see much of the stage or the full castle projections.
Your angle is a little more of the side of the castle rather than directly head-on.
But you’ll have chairs, food, and drinks while you wait so it may be worth it for your family.

How Much Do the Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Parties Cost (2023)? Let’s Talk Disney Dollars
The Dessert Parties for the Halloween party are an added cost on top of your Mickey’s-Not-So-Scary Party ticket.
- Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace: $114 (including tax and gratuity) for Guests ages 10 and older; $69 (including tax and gratuity) for Guests ages 3 to 9
- Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing: $99 (including tax and gratuity) for Guests ages 10 and older; $59 (including tax and gratuity) for Guests ages 3 to 9
- Discounts may be applied (Annual Pass discount of 10% off)
What’s On the Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party Party Menu?
The dessert party provides a sweets buffet (with limited savory options).
There’s a lot of variety to be had, and most of it was familiar enough, but also fancy enough, to possibly justify the price tag if you are big dessert people.
Our buffet had the following:
- Delicious desserts such as chocolate-dipped strawberries and devil’s chocolate mousse
- A variety of cheeses, breads, and fruits
- Refreshing beverages, including an assortment of beer and wine for Guests ages 21 and over with a valid form of identification
Is The Food At The Disney Dessert Parties Worth Your Disney Dollars?
In our opinion, the food was disappointing.
Frankly, you aren’t paying $100 for the desserts! And we love desserts… but these were not worth it.
We thought that Disney had an opportunity to do something really special at these dessert parties with an exclusive cake or cupcake or monster shake: something to make the dessert portion pop.
Alas, it was a pretty generic Disney sweets buffet that you can get in most of the buffet character meals on the property.
You could “girl math” this one out- we attempted it– to justify paying this high price during the MNSSHP.
And it was clear we were putting the most value on the saved time, NOT sitting in the pre-fireworks hub.
We felt that sitting down in chairs with cool beverages and snacks was a better use of our time than sitting in the hub, hoping someone tall wouldn’t pop in front of us last minute.
None of us were drinking that night, but if you enjoy wine or beer, you can also factor that cost into your benefit analysis.
We did ask for bottles of water to take with us to watch the fireworks. When you left the meal area, the cast members were happy to provide non-alcoholic to-go bottles.
Is Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party Party Worth It? That’s $100+ Of Your Disney Dollars… Soooo…
While we enthusiastically felt the food was not worth the price tag alone, we also recognized that we weren’t really paying for the food.
What you’re additionally paying for at the dessert parties is location, location, location.
Getting off your feet mid-MNSSHP for a few snacks and drinks and that fireworks view make these parties valuable.
If Disney wanted to sell these parties out, however, they would add a Halloween-exclusive character option plus that specialty dessert we suggested above. We’d be back if they changed yearly meet and greets and desserts!
Or- better yet- if they added a parade viewing location to the package. We agreed that we’d pay an additional $20 for that perk.
Beyond Disney Dollars: Did It Feel Like We Wasted MNSSHP Party Time At The Dessert Party?
Ultimately, no, we didn’t feel like any time was wasted.
You could come and go as you please; a bathroom is in this area.
If we had wanted to leave to make a quick candy trail or watch the first parade, we could have- and still had time to eat and drink our fill.
We arrived around 9:30, ate, drank, used the restroom, and headed to the hub grass around 10:05 p.m. The fireworks started at 10:15 p.m.
We could have saved our Disney dollars and camped out in the hub area, but we wouldn’t have had the drinks and snacks or the comforts of table and chairs.
Important Information For The Fireworks Dessert Parties
This restaurant is inside the Magic Kingdom during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. You need a party ticket to book this specific event.
There are Happily Ever After Dessert Party options as well during non-party nights.
You will also need an advance dining reservation to eat here, as the holidays are incredibly busy.
You can book your dining up to 60 days in advance online- and reservations are highly recommended. There may be availability the day of for walk-up, but we’d book in advance for this one.
Is Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Dessert Party Party worth it? We think it *might* be, depending on how you value an experience.
It’s always hard to decide how to spend those Disney dollars, but this might be a splurge that works for your family.
