runDisney Announces Pixie Dust Challenge
How do you ensure a sellout for race weekend? Add a challenge!
runDisney just announced the Tinker Bell #PixieDustChallenge for May 2015.
Righting a wrong from last year, the Tinker Bell runners will finally have their challenge medal in 2015.
If you run the 10K and the half marathon you will be eligible for the new Pixie Dust Challenge medal.
I was (still am!) in the disappointed camp over the fact that it is now scheduled for Mother”s Day.
I’m so torn on this one though. I do love the courses, the women-centric race, and of course, Disneyland. But it would be tough to leave the family on Mother’s Day (and taking them is not in the financial cards this year.)
I said I was out… until they decide to add a challenge. So. Gah. I’ve got some thinking to do!
Registration opens next Wednesday for AP and DVC owners. General registration starts August 12.
Are you in? With Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, can you fly?
Patty Holliday has been running Disney since 2011. She knows just about every tip, trick, and hack there is to cover the runDisney Magical Miles at Disney World and Disneyland. She knows every mile isn’t *always* magical- but with training, tips, and a little bit of pixie dust, they can be a lot of fun! You can also find her at noguiltlife.com and noguiltfangirl.com
Uh oh, does this mean you’re running?
Farrrrrkkkkkkkkkk
Finally Tinkerbell is getting some respect! I will be running all the races.
I expected as much!
NOOOOOO!!! I finally came to peace with my decision to skip Tink and now they’re dangling this gorgeous temptation? Oh man. My bling addiction is going crazy. They’re enablers! Enablers, I say!
I am having that same internal debate Laura! I was 100% fine with not running Tink this year. And now. Gaaahhhhh
I think I am in! Tinkerbell is my favorite disney character and I do love the half. I loved your recap, along with other bloggers, for the 10k. However it is a bit of a risk because I will be in the middle of finals for my doctoral program but maybe that will motivate me to get all papers done early!
but the money! I can’t financially #runalltheraces every year-like I am doing this year. I am going to have to give up some part of the Disneyland races, especially as race prices keep going up and up. Some decisions will have to made after Avengers and Star Wars.
I’m having that same conversation with Mr. Shenanigans. He says to go to Tink, buuuuttt… we gotta stop #runningalltheraces I’m still opposed to May (mothers day in particular but also the heat!) Stomping foot. lol
me too! I loved Jan because of the temps-this May was out of control in SoCal so I am very worried it will be that way for Tink.
Also, I will need to modify my handy tink costume. the long sleeves and capris have got to go!
I know the mixed feelings about Mother’s Day. Consider this: (and I did with the help of my super supportive husband) Mother’s Day is for you too! You can celebrate by doing the things you love and indulging yourself. I say: Go for it! Being a kick a** role model for you kids in health, doing what you love and following you passions is HUGE!
This is Mother’s Day, which is your day. I know you would love to spend it with your kids, breakfast in bed and the whole thing. But you could also think of it as taking time for yourself which we never do enough of. A hotel room to yourself, eating what you want when you want, connecting with other bloggers and those of us that follow your blogs. Maybe it’s because my kids are grown and I felt like everything I did had to revolve around them when they were young. I now realize it’s okay to let the husband take care of the kids and the house for a few days, it’s okay to show them you are strong and independent and have interests of your own. Whatever your decision is, your family will still love you no matter what!
