List of Marvel Movies to Binge Before The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Premiere
Here’s the quick bullet list if you just wanted to know the names of the movies to queue up on Disney+.
Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson have a pretty great history of vying for Captain America’s BFF- and some epic one-liners and fight scenes as well.
So it will be worth the time to watch a few of these movies to prepare yourself for the fun ahead of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier!

I also included a few reasons why some of these made the list. Caution: mild spoilers ahead.
- Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
- Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
- Captain America: Civil War (2016)
- Black Panther (2018)
- Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

Why You Want To Watch Captain America: The First Avenger Before Falcon and The Winter Soldier
Look, I’ve heard a few friends complain that this movie is slow and boring.
I’m sorry, what?

This movie is one of the foundations of the MCU so you really need to sit down and watch it.
Plus you get to know exactly who Bucky Barnes is and why he’s important to Steve Rogers and the rest of the MCU.
Captain America: Winter Soldier
If you only have time for one movie to watch before The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, I’d say pick this one.
It is also in my top 5 of Marvel movies, so you should be in for a great ride!
This one brings back Bucky Barnes- with a twist. He’s now The Winter Soldier (dun dun dunnn) and also gives us the glorious right-hand man of Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon.
If you need to quick intro to the two main characters in the Disney+ series, this is the movie for you.

You’ll Definitely Want To Watch Captain America: Civil War Before Falcon And The Winter Soldier
This movie isn’t always a favorite of MCU fans, but it gives some great Sam/Bucky moments.
And isn’t that what we’re here for?
Including my favorite one that you just gotta watch to really appreciate these two dudes!

Do You Need To Watch Avengers: Endgame Before Falcon And The Winter Soldier?
I’m going to go ahead with a big fat YES on this one.
After you get to know the dynmic between the three main characters, a wolf pack of super heroes if you will, then you’ll need to know why this show matters.
If rumors are true, we’re picking up the series with the funeral of Captain America, aka Steve Rogers and you know that’s going to pack a wallop.
Sam is shown using the shield in the trailer and we find out in this movie just how he scored Cap’s legacy.
So grab your tissues (you WILL need it) and settle down for this Marvel movie before watching The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
