Dynamic Duos | 2016 Disneyland Half Marathon Theme

Well, this is new.

runDisney quietly updated the description of the 2016 Disneyland Half Marathon.  New for 2016: a pre-announced race themes.

I gotta say: I love this transparency.

They’ve taken the guessing out of the equation this year.  I know many love to be surprised, but I also know so many friends who were crushed when they missed the Alice in Wonderland, Stitch or the Villians themed 10K medals of recent years.

Dynamic Duos are the theme for 2016.

So heads up: if you happen to be an Aladdin fan (raising hand), you won’t want to miss the 10K this year!

Mickey and Pluto host the half marathon.

Aladdin and Genie (squee!) host the 10K.

I wasn’t planning on running the Disneyland Half weekend events this year, but… this just might change my mind.  I have a thing for the big blue guy and have been dying to run in a magic carpet costume.

Yes- I am serious!  Ha!

If you are running the Dumbo Dare, it seems that Dumbo and Timothy will be featured on the merchandise.

There’s a long shot for a Dumbo character op, but I don’t think I’d get my hopes up.  I’ve seen a Dumbo costume character at a special event in Walt Disney World before, so I know it exists.  Wouldn’t that be a fun addition to your race pictures?

The Country Bear’s Liver Lips and Al will be featured in the 5K race.

Annual pass holder and DVC member registrations start next Tuesday.  Check your member pages for details and get ready to register.  If you want to bypass the whole registration drama, contact my friend Sarah at Go Magical Miles.  She will have bibs, rooms, and ticket packages for all the races!
