New year, new race cycle for runDisney.
It also means the first race, your sprint to register, starts soon!
It feels like the massive rush to register for most races has passed, which is a big sigh of relief.
It could be the increase in prices (groan) or the saturation of the market but thankfully the days of hitting refresh over and over and submitting as soon as possible are mostly over. There are a few races that still sell out wicked fast. If you want a challenge, for example, be on the ball when it comes to registration day!
But if you are an Annual Passholder, you are in luck. You can get a jump on the masses when it comes to registering for your favorite race if you happen to own a pass to either resort.
*It does not GUARANTEE registration. Important to remember.*
This information is found on your Annual Passholder page on the Disney websites. Your registration links will also be found there and will go LIVE when the time to register happens.
Knowing this can help ease the worries and concerns of site crashes when it comes to registering for your favorite race.
There are NO discounts, just a week to two-week head start on registration.
Something you MUST remember: registrations are limited for the Annual Passholder (and DVC members- typically offered the same dates but I’m not DVC, so I can’t comment on that.) I’ve heard numbers reported that 10% of the registrations are available for these two groups, so if you do not have an AP, do NOT panic! Plenty of slots will open at the regular dates.
Go ahead and mark your calendars for the 2016 race season.
I’m eying the Disneyland 10K, Avengers Half and Star Wars Half. Special consideration is going toward earning the 20th anniversary Donald medal at Walt Disney World. I do love that duck!
Which runDisney event will I see you at this year?
Patty Holliday has been running Disney since 2011. She knows just about every tip, trick, and hack there is to cover the runDisney Magical Miles at Disney World and Disneyland. She knows every mile isn’t *always* magical- but most of them are pretty full of pixie dust at Disney!
