This Boardwalk room tour makes a strong case!

Why Runners Love Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort
You might be a Boardwalk Inn lover if you run all the races and spend your non-running time lounging by the pool, enjoying the resort’s many amenities.
I get it- and I’m here to say you make very good choices.
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn is one of my favorite resorts for a runDisney weekend for those reasons and more.
It’s also a great place to stay if you don’t run. Disney guests often rank this resort as one of their favorite deluxe options.
If you’ve stayed at any of the Value Resorts like Pop Century at Disney World, you’ll notice the recent room upgrades.
The Deluxe resorts have also had a fair share of refurbishments as well.
At Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, the rooms typically have two queen beds and a daybed, which can comfortably sleep a family of 5.
Running Trails At Disney World: Running Around Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort
If you pack your running shoes on vacation, you’re in luck. You can get additional miles around the resort’s lake using the posted jogging paths.
Where can you run at the Boardwalk Inn? Around the Boardwalk, of course!
And in fact, most of the Walt Disney World runDisney 10K courses run through the Boardwalk, so finding someplace to cheer a runner on is also more accessible from this location.
Sticking to the Boardwalk will get you a solid .8 miles.
A public bathroom near the International Gateway entrance of Epcot offers a water stop if needed.
Might make for a long virtual runDisney race, but doing four loops could get that 5K done on property pretty easily.
You could also run down the path to Epcot or Hollywood Studios and back for additional mileage.
I’ll get to the photo room tour in just a bit, but we really have to talk about location first.
This is one Disney World Resort that will have you wanting to leave the parks early to really enjoy.
From great places to relax to nearby meal options, you really cannot go wrong with this location.
There’s tons to do at the Boardwalk Inn if you don’t have theme park tickets!
Transportation Options At the Boardwalk Inn to The Theme Parks
Because this location is pretty much everything!
You’ll be in walking distance to two theme parks: Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
If you don’t want to walk to those resorts, no problem. You can also take a Friendship Boat ride to either park.
And you can also ride the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios.
You will take a bus to Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom.
The easy transportation is one of the main reasons runners think Disney’s Boardwalk Inn is the best resort for a runDisney race weekend.
Photo Room Tour of Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Standard View Room
The Boardwalk Inn has a lot going for it as a resort in general.
But when you book the Boardwalk Inn, you are probably most interested in the room and the pool.
Here are some pics that help you see what you get inside the room.
We tried to take photos of major elements that matter to Disney vacationers- and yes, you runners and your need for coffee were at the top of our list!
Best Disney Resort for runDisney Marathon Weekends: Boardwalk Inn Coffee Maker and Amenities
It’s a single-pod coffee maker at the Boardwalk Inn.
If you need more supplies, just call Housekeeping.
I tend to use a lot of coffee on race weekends, so I always ask for a big bag of creamer and pods and cups.
Disney Room Tour: The Beds At Boardwalk Inn
Each room still has 2 beds (unless you book a King) and some beds will come with an additional daybed.
It’s set up like a couch but pulls down easily for a twin-sized bed.
There’s also a countertop that offers plenty of USB chargers for the family.
And all the pillows you could possibly want.
But of course, if you need more, just call Housekeeping, and they can deliver.
Boardwalk Inn Room Tour: Bathrooms
The bathrooms were not spared in the great renovation of the Boardwalk Inn.
And we are here for this new look.
Most rooms have been converted to showers but ours still had a bathtub. As runners, it was an excellent option for those ice baths!
The bathrooms are bright, airy, and have valuable cabinets and spaces.
This makes spreading out as a family or group much easier now that more options are loaded into the restroom area.
The powder room and shower are together in one area.
And we have the standard bulk shampoo and conditioner and body wash located here.
Not my favorite, but the Mousekeeping staff keeps things stocked which is important to most guests.
The Pool At The Boardwalk Inn Resort: Huge Perk!
We love a good pool, especially when you want to stay off your feet in preparation for a longer race.
And the Boardwalk Inn has one of the best pools on property – especially since they removed the scary clown slide!
It’s vast, has tons of loungers, tables, and chairs, and we love the spa area.
There’s also a great pool bar here; you can absolutely make a day at the pool here!
The pool is honestly, elite and probably why Boardwalk Inn is high on the list when it comes to the best Disney resort for runDisney marathon weekends.
