High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special
So 2020 has been pretty much trash and so many of the anticipated Disney+ shows were put on hold for a bit.
The entertainment drought is real, y’all!
That’s why I have to admit- I have not clicked play so fast eve in my life as when this High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special official trailer dropped!
Take a look, then let’s talk about all minor Christmas miracle that this special looks to be for the Wildcat fandom.
Top 5 Things That The High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special Is Blessing Us With
1. The obvious: new content!
While I like rewatching some of my Disney faves on Disney+, I have been devouring the new shows like The Right Stuff and The Mandalorian Season 2 quotes.
And after falling totally in love with this cast (I stan hard, y’all- the show is FILLED with talent!) I’ve just been waiting to see more from them.
2. More Julia Lester
I honestly cannot tell you how much Julia Lester shines in this series.
She has a great character, some of the best lines, and her voice… S-W-O-O-N.
And obviously, she’s gonna kill it with the looks in this holiday special!
She’s also promising more dreidels in the trailer and I’m not mad about that.
3. Theater Kids RULE and High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special is ready to show them off!
I can only imagine that this whole stay at home, stay off the stage, stay away from your audience thing has got to be hard on theater kids everywhere.
I was one (a minor one, many years ago!) and I remember how good it felt to step on stage.
I hope this teen-show reminds kids that it’s cool to be you in whatever form that takes, even if it’s singing dorky holiday songs with your teachers and friends.
And maybe a tap dance number or two.
4. Seb And Carlos Are Adorbs
When the series wrapped up, we had a Seb and Carlos relationship starting and it was just so super sweet.
More of this, please and thank you.
2020, you can’t be all bad, so don’t let us down and give these kids some happily ever after!
5. An Original Joshua Bassett Christmas Song
I said these kids were talented, right?
Joshua Bassett, who plays one of the leads in the show, is SO freaking talented.
He can act, he can sing, and he can write songs.
He co-wrote and performed “Just For a Moment” with Olivia Rodrigo for season one and will debut
an acoustic version of “The Perfect Gift,” a song he penned for season two, on “High School
Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special.”
BONUS: Oh, we’re getting a bonus on with this one!
A sneak peek of season 2 from High School Musical The Musical is coming with this special.
