What’s The Deal With The Disneyland Candy Canes?
If you’re heading to Disneyland this holiday season, you may have heard about these special treats.
But what’s the story behind them?
Starting all the way back in 1968, Disneyland candy makers began offering hand-pulled candy canes to guests.
Every year since (minus 2020, of course) they’ve been holiday favorites for fans visiting Disneyland at Christmas.
The candy cane-making process begins at 5 am and takes about 2 hours to complete before they can go out the door to guests.
It starts by mixing sugar, corn syrup, and water with peppermint flavoring added later.
Where most candy canes are made by machine, the Disneyland ones are all pulled by hand!

Candy Canes At Disneyland: How To Score Yours In 2023
For a chance to purchase one of the candy canes this year, a mobile waitlist system will be used as quantities are very limited.
Download that Disneyland app and enter the waitlist as early as possible.
Candy canes can and do sell out by the end of the day, so make sure you get on the list ASAP.
Limit 1 per guest.
Once the mobile waitlist is activated, add your name and phone number at the location to receive a text back with a time to return.
Candy Canes will NOT be available via mobile ordering.

You can only get these super-limited treats at Disneyland.
Sorry, Walt Disney World friends, the hand-pulled candy canes are not offered in Florida.
There are two locations that will see the limited Disneyland Candy Canes in 2023.
- Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen: Disneyland Park
- Trolley Treats: Disney California Adventure Park
What Dates Are The Candy Canes At Disneyland Available in 2023?
Candy Canes will be available on the following dates in Disneyland at Candy Palace:
- December 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, and 24
Candy Canes will be available on the following dates in DCA at Trolley Treats:
- December 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25
