From the moment we all saw and fell in love with The Child (and started sharing Baby Yoda memes and The Mandalorian quotes), there was one question on our minds. Can you meet Baby Yoda at Disney? It seems the Baby Yoda and Mandalorian meet and greets at Disney World and Disneyland are in the planning stages. Here’s what we know so far.
Can You Meet Baby Yoda At Disney? This Is The Way…
While speaking to Lucasfilm’s senior vice president of licensing, Paul Southern, at a special event ahead of the New York Toy Fair, he said:
“So, the reality is that we feel it’s really important for our guests at the parks to be able to meet all of our key characters on a first-hand, personal basis.
And so it’s something we’re working on.
We think it’s appropriate, and I think it’s something the guests at the parks can look forward to in the very near future.”
This is brand new information and we are ready for it!
When can we expect this to happen?
I mean, I think I speak for all of us that we NEED a Baby Yoda selfie on our next Disney trip.
Soon is all we’ve got- but I’m hoping before the next season of The Mandalorian which drops in October 2020.
A Galaxy’s Edge meet and greet- or maybe in Launch Bay?- with The Mandalorian shouldn’t be too hard to arrange since the character never removes his helmet.
At least casting shouldn’t be a challenge, one would think.
And there was once a Baby Groot meet and greet, which was adorable, so the idea of an interaction with The Child is entirely within Disney Imagineer’s wheelhouse.
While there’ no official announcement, Southern did make it sound like this could happen in the very near future.
This is the way…
