Favorite Medals | Tuesday’s on the Run
This one is going to be short and sweet with lots of bling. Tuesday’s on the Run is all about your favorite race medals. Be sure to link up with us!
Runners love to show off the medals they earn and I’m no exception. I have to admit that the bling isn’t quite the draw it once was for me, but I still sign up for races with medals that appeal. Guilty.
Here are a few of my favorites from this past year:
I sometimes think my favorite medal is the one I earned last. I love all three of these medals because they symbolized a bit of a fight to finish for me.
I just came off the flu and while I felt well, I was still exhausted. This set of medals was earned by sheer will. With a healthy dose of post running naps for survival.
These symbolize one of my favorite race weekends. Full of good friends and lots of shenanigans at my happy place, Disneyland.
That awful gold glove? I kinda love it now. I never thought I would say that!
All three of these medals are special to me. The first one was the worst and best experience of my life. I was dreading those miles but in the end was proud to finish them.
The far right medal was earned after an unhealthy dose of mental angst I put on myself. What was worse than running a marathon? In my head it was running another half the weekend after!
Turned out that race was lovely. Who knew?!
The coast to coast medal is one my Disney-loving heart finds particularly satisfying.
And of course, my favorite medal ever.
It’s not just because it was my marathon. I also happen to love everything about this classy design. The ribbon color and the solid feel and look of Mickey makes me happy.
What are your favorite medals? Would love to hear the story behind them!

Patty Holliday has been running Disney since 2011. She knows just about every tip, trick, and hack there is to cover the runDisney Magical Miles at Disney World and Disneyland. She knows every mile isn’t *always* magical- but with training, tips, and a little bit of pixie dust, they can be a lot of fun! You can also find her at noguiltlife.com and noguiltfangirl.com
My WDW half medal was earned by sheer stubbornness. The race sucked because I was in a horrible mood with my injury, but I earned that medal.
Ha- I know that feeling. I was doing that a bit this weekend- way inside my head over how tired I was from the flu. BUT… we did it, right?
Man, Disney races have some of the best medals ever!! The Star Wars and Avengers medals are pretty rocking. They may just force me to do those races 🙂
Honestly, their medals are GORGEOUS. I’ve always been happy with them!
I have 3 favorites this year. New York Marathon (the whole experience still makes me smile), Disney Dopey Challenge 2016 (because I ran the whole weekend with my daughter, best running partner ever), and Louisiana Marathon (1 week after Disney. I was a little afraid of this race one week after Disney Marathon, but it was a total blast. Even qualified me for Marathon Manics)
Congrats on the Maniacs! That’s awesome- and so hard to do! New York: what an amazing race. Swoon!
Congrats on earning all those. I know it ain’t easy..lol
I thought I loved the design of the wdw marathon medal last year but I REALLY love the design this year!!!!
Maybe not easy, but man, what a lot of fun!
Your favorite medal and my favorite medal are one in the same!!! I love how you took a picture of your medal with the castle in the background! I”m so going to have to do this next time!!!!!! Thanks lady for the link up it’s a great topic this week!
That medal is the BEST, isn’t it?!
It would be hard for that marathon medal not to be a favorite given all you did to earn it. 🙂 I love that you always get pics of your medals with the castles!
It’s a fun background! I didn’t make it over there for the Princess medals, but I think I still took a cute shot!
