Here’s how you can sign up to earn your Kessel Run Challenge Medal in 2019 – changes to the Star Wars Races announced.
Star Wars fans: runDisney is making sure that you can continue your quest to earn the Kessel Run Challenge medal. The first half must be completed as a Star Wars virtual race, but hey, it’s better than nothing!
And you can sign up now for the Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon and Kessel Run Challenge through Park and Preston Travel.

If you are signed up for the runDisney Star Wars Rival Run next April, you can claim your Kessel Run Challenge medal!
Run the Virtual Star Wars half marathon with runDisney and you’ll be eligible upon completing of the Rival Run Half. Light or Dark Side: it doesn’t matter. Both are eligible.
Kessel Run Challenge Star Wars Race Costs
You can register for the Kessel Run and Star Wars virtual Half Marathon for $69.
You can register for just the virtual half for $59.
The same rules for the challenge are in place from last year.
In order to participate in the runDisney Kessel Run Challenge, runners must be registered for the Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon or Star Wars Rival Run Challenge PLUS the runDisney Kessel Run Challenge.
The Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon and Star Wars Rival Run are subject to eligibility requirements and capacity limits. runDisney Kessel Run Challenge participants must complete the Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon within the pacing requirements in order to receive their Kessel Run Challenge medal.
runDisney Star Wars Kessel Run Challenge Important Details:
- Kessel Run Challenge participants will receive their Star Wars Virtual Half Marathon medal and Star Wars-themed keepsake at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo during the Star Wars Rival Run race weekend.
- Upon completion of the Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon within the pacing requirements, participants will be awarded the coveted Kessel Run Challenge medal in addition to their Star Wars Rival Run Half Marathon medal.

If you’re loving the idea of running a Star Wars race, but have no idea where a Star Wars is, or who a Star Wars is, or why a Star Wars is… (H/T to my Avengers: Infinity War spoiler fans who get this one) we’ve got some help for you.
You have a full year to prepare for the runDisney Star Wars races. And earning that Star Wars Half Virtual medal is always more fun when you do it on a treadmill with a great movie as a distraction. Getting in these Star Wars movies in order during a Star Wars movie marathon shouldn’t be too hard!
And while you can’t run while watching this one, I’m going to give a shout out to the Kid-Friendly Solo: A Star Wars Story opening this week. Here’s why I feel like this one is family friendly and fun for the whole family of Star Wars lovers.
