This is a joke, right? I mean, we’re being punked?
A couple weeks ago Under Armour released their Star Wars Line… for men and boys. You can read all about that debacle here.
Under Armour quickly spoke up via Twitter and email letting the ladies know that they’d been heard.
“Women’s gear is coming soon!” they announced all over social media after the outcry of sexism.
So yeah… it’s here.
And it’s weak. WEAK I tell ya!
The guys get shirts that actually look like Vader or Storm Troopers. This is an important distinction.
They get to BE Vader.
The ladies?
Welp.
We get to support our boyfriend by wearing his face on our shirt. Or something like that.
Hrrrmmphhh.
The good news? Not a pink thing in the entire line of cotton workout wear.
The bad news? Yep- you caught that too? COTTON WORKOUT WEAR.
What-The-What is going on at UA headquarters? Cotton? Are you KIDDING me? News flash- chicks sweat too.
While I like the look of the shirts offered (hey! there’s some good news) these won’t be my go-to shirts for a workout or race.
You know, like the runDisney Star Wars Challenges happening in both January and April this year.
Ahem.
Dear Under Armour,
Your game is weak.
Did you know that 60% of the runners at the Avengers Half Marathon last weekend were women? You missed out on a huge opportunity with women’s wear for the Alter Ego line… again.
And you aren’t correcting that mistake with the Star Wars line.
It’s not fitting of a corporation like yourself to treat both genders equally.
But in this case, you DO need to try again.
How do you feel about the Under Armour Star Wars line for Women?

I'm appalled that the line is cotton and so limited. I'm 62 and more in touch than Under Armour. I NEVER run in cotton shirts. Since I like UA running clothes this is particularly disgusting. Not only did they miss out on Avengers but if they don't immediately make a correction most of us will buy another brand for both Star Wars races. UA it's 2015, not 1950. See women as they are and market accordingly!

That's so upsetting! It was probably just put together in response to the outcry and not well thought-out. I'm not usually a UA person anyway, but this makes me want to purposely avoid their stuff.

COTTON? From Under Armour? I would expect cotton from Old Navy or Champion. But not UA, who I consider the leader in performance sports shirts. Geesh.
And did you notice on the mens' line that the shirt says "Protect this House" but the copy says "Protect this Empire"" I think the later would be way cooler.

This is crap! Since they had the license to produce Star Wars tech gear, it should have been for women and men. Total fail on UA's part. I'm glad I have my shirts from InkNBurn to wear. Too bad they are missing out on a huge market. I would love it if Her Universe would do an active wear line. her clothing always rocks!

I agree! A friend posted these and thought they were cute but I was more than a little disappointed. No tech? WTF? At first I got excited about the Born to Lead thinking it would be General Leia - Nope. This is not a good response on their part.
