Tuesdays on the run is a fun weekly link up for runners from all paces and stages of their careers. If you are winning the races OR a back of the pack runner, all are welcome here!

This week we offer a “free topic”- link up any running related post with us! Visit a few new faces or say hi to some old friends. Comments are always appreciated when you can share the love.

Here are the topics for the rest of the year in case you like to plan ahead!

  • 12/6/2016  – Tell us something new you learned about running in 2016
  • 12/13/2016 – Favorite running book you read in 2016 (could be a cookbook)
  • 12/20/2016 – Your year in bling or pictures
  • 12/27/2016  – Wrap up your year

Thanks for stopping by! And don’t forget to link up with Erika, Marcia and me for this week’s Tuesdays on the Run!

ps- apologies for my lack of comments in recent weeks. Life is getting craaaaay over here and I’m doggy paddling a bit with some tasks. I still read, I promise! And hope to get back into the swing of things soon.

New branding this year for an old runDisney favorite: runDisney VIP Race Retreat has shown up on the website.

Runners are getting exclusive access to the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo, as well as the usual race retreat perks.

Race Retreat Pricing

  • Walt Disney World® Marathon – $120
  • Walt Disney World® Half Marathon – $120
  • Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge or Dopey Challenge – $230

Is race retreat “worth it”? That’s up to you to decide.

If you put value on arriving at the expo early without a huge line, then yes.

If you end up with a very cold, very wet, or very hot race morning, then yes.

If you like characters before the race, a little special treatment, some coffee and bacon: then YES.

I’ve never done it myself, but I get the appeal.

What do you think about the extra early entry to the Expo?

  1. My thoughts on Race Retreat, in general.

They need to keep it open long enough for people in the last corral who meet the time restrictions to come in and have breakfast post-race.

When I did it for Dopey, a couple of my friends got in while they were putting the food away and clearing tables.

Which is …pardon my language BS 🙂 If you’re in the last corral and run a 16 mm, you are crossing the start line AT LEAST a half hour (if not much longer) than other runners which is already cutting back on your time to get to RR.

I wouldn’t do it again unless they extended the “closing” times.

  2. I think if I ever go back to Disney it would be to do a Dopey challenge weekend 🙂
I don’t think the early entry appeals or me, because then I just pay for more nights in a hotel lol and just the basic package is quite an investment.

  3. Is there any information on how you will get in with the special access to the expo since you don’t pick up your information until it opens?

    1. It does not say. I wonder if they will deliver to your room for this particular case? Or you will be on a list and you just get checked in at the doors to the expo. That’s my guess.
